DISCOVER THE GLACIERS OF SOUTHERN PATAGONIA IN AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE

The journey begins early in the morning from your accommodation or meeting point in the city of El Calafate, and then we head to the private port “La Soledad,” located about 47 kilometers outside the city. Once at the port, we will board the boat and set sail towards the northern channel of Lake Argentino. As we advance, icebergs will decorate our passage through the Upsala Channel, with meltwater from the glacier of the same name (Upsala Glacier, currently in retreat).

Then, we will head to the Spegazzini Channel to see several hanging glaciers such as Seco, Heim Sur, and Peinetta as we continue our walk until we reach the front of the highest glacier in the National Park: the Spegazzini Glacier.

We will then disembark in a quiet bay where Las Vacas Post is located. Once there, we will walk for about 20 minutes along the coast, appreciating the Patagonian Andean forest and its historical significance.

After that, we will embark once again to reach our final destination: the north wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier!

The Patagonian Ice Field is, after Antarctica, the largest ice sheet on the planet. Its glaciers originate at an altitude of only 1,500 meters above sea level and descend to 200 meters above sea level, allowing for access and views that are unique in the world.

Los Glaciares National Park is a magnificent setting of forests, lakes, mountains, ice, and steppe, with more than 200 glaciers. Highlights include the Spegazzini Glacier, with its high front reaching 135 meters above sea level; the Upsala Glacier, which covers an entire valley with an area of approximately 765 square kilometers and a length of 53 kilometers; and the Perito Moreno Glacier, which is constantly advancing and whose breaks are an incomparable natural spectacle.

Glaciares Gourmet is a full-day experience aboard the María Turquesa Cruise Ship, which visits some of the most beautiful spots in this Patagonian landscape, sailing in the utmost comfort and offering gourmet cuisine specially designed for a memorable experience.
