Departing from El Calafate to the port “Bajo de las Sombras” we embark to cross the Rico Lake, arriving at the opposite shore after 25 minutes of navigation in front of the south face of the Glacier. Upon disembarkation, you will be met by mountain guides who will take you to a refuge. From there, you will start a hike along the lake shore; when you reach the edge of the glacier, the guides will form groups of 20 people each, and will put on crampons and helmets. Once on the ice, you will receive a brief safety briefing and begin the hike. At the end of the walk on the ice, you will return to the refuge by a footbridge that crosses the Andean Patagonian forest. Shortly after, you will embark to return to the port and observe the walls of the glacier, passing again in front of the South Face of the Glacier, where you will be able to appreciate the icebergs. You will be able to go out on deck and fully enjoy this wonderful panoramic view.
