Enjoy a dinner in an ancient cave in Punta Walichu in the city of El Calafate.
The excursion focuses on the history of the first contacts of the Expeditionaries with the Tehuelches (natives of the area), crossing cliffs and marveling at views of Lake Argentino and the Andes Mountains. After being picked up at your hotel in El Calafate, the first stop is at the shore of the lake where you will be able to see the native flora and fauna, where an explanation about glaciology and geology will be given.
Marvel at the rock art of the Tehuelche natives
The second stop will be at Los Acantilados in front of the lake from where you will have magnificent views of the surroundings. Finally, at the third stop, the Archaeological Zone will be visited. Here you can appreciate Rock Art through paintings in the Caves on the shores of the lake, where thousands of years ago the Tehuelche culture left their marks on the rock and that today we can interpret. It is there, inside the cave, where we will have lunch and enjoy a unique experience in a totally natural environment that will transport us to those remote years of the first explorers.
Departure times: Lunch 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Dinner 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
